About Me
I’m a Spanish and Catalan to English translator, editor, and proofreader specializing in legal, financial, and business documents. I work with translation agencies and private clients to help them get their message across in natural, clear and engaging English.I grew up in New York, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and English before making my first trip to Spain in the late 1980s. That trip sparked both a lifelong connection to the country and my career in translation. After three years as an in-house translator for a Spanish insurance brokerage, I took the leap into freelancing, and never looked back. More than thirty years later, I still enjoy the challenge of conveying ideas clearly and naturally in English.Living and working in Spain for many years has given me firsthand knowledge of how the country communicates, does business, and thinks about language. That perspective shapes every translation I do, across legal, financial, and business fields.With the kids grown and the nest empty, I'm able to split my time between the US and my beloved adoptive country and to focus fully on my work as a translator.

Editing: Do you have materials written in English - often by non-native speakers - that need to be checked for spelling, grammar, and syntax so that your English-speaking audience never knows the difference?
Proofreading: Do you simply require a final once over of your English materials to correct any typos that may have escaped the editor's eagle eye?
